How to Play COOL104: From the First Card to a 104-Card Clear
The basic rules of COOL104 (also known as What if), how to pick your first card, what ends a run, and how poker bonuses work. No sign-up needed to play.
Pick any card from your hand to start
COOL104 is a solo card game played with two standard decks, 104 cards in total. You start with a hand of five cards. Choose any one of them and it becomes the table card.
From the second card on, you must play a card that matches the table card’s suit or rank. If the table card is the 7 of hearts, you can play any heart or any 7.
Every card you play is replaced
While the deck lasts, each card you play is replaced with a new one. Once the deck runs out, your hand shrinks. The game ends when you have no legal card left or when all 104 cards have been played.
If you are new, aim for 10 cards first, then 52, then the full 104. There is no time limit.
Base payout and poker bonuses are separate
In a normal credit game, playing 10 or more cards earns a base payout that grows with the number of cards you reach. The cards you have played are not evaluated as a hand. Instead, whenever your refilled hand has five cards, those five are checked for a poker hand.
Poker bonuses are added on top of the base payout, so a run that stops short of 10 cards can still keep its bonus. The multipliers in the payout table are specific to this web version and some are provisional.
Choose free practice or a ranked game
Free practice works even while signed in and never spends credits. Practice and daily challenge results are stored in this browser. Ranked games need an account, and a successful collect saves the result as an official record.
